Why Fly?

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

Leonardo da Vinci

Learning to fly is about more than transportation. Why are so many people enamored with the Blue Angels, jet aircraft, and military aerospace? Even as an instructor, there are still aspects of flying that are beautiful and mysterious. There is always something to be learned; there are always skills that can be honed. No day in the air is the same, and each day presents its own unique challenges. The student pilot often learns as much about himself as he does about the airplane. Many private pilots gain their license only to find out that they have only begun to learn about the important skills of decision making and judgment. Learning to fly is a privilege that is unique to this era, and it offers great rewards to those who take the challenge.
